Paradym's aim is to make building digital identity solutions as straightforward as possible. To do this we combine our minimal and clear API interface with a lot of power under the hood in terms of implemented standards and protocols. Simply said, you can focus on building your solution, and we'll make sure you get the interoperability, infrastructure and support to make it work at a global scale.
Our goals for 2025 are centered around facilitating a new level of maturity for anyone building with Paradym (as well as the digital identity ecosystem as a whole). This year we are making Paradym the number-one choice for digital identity builders, big and small. In this article, we dive into our goals for 2025 regarding features, users, and impact. If you think there are any important plans we're missing, join the Paradym Community and let us know!
⚡️ Moving Out of Beta
It's a bit overdue, but in 2025 Paradym will leave its beta status behind for good. The current version of Paradym cannot really be called a test version anymore, we have users (not testers), the platform is self-serve, it's been stable for the past year and been used to build some pretty amazing things. The only thing that is keeping it in beta is an internal review and update of the way we manage data storage. We are currently working on this and expect to be moving out of beta within Q1 2025.
⚡️ EUDI & Paradym
In a lot of ways Paradym is already suited to build solutions that work with the upcoming European Digital Identity ecosystem. Paradym supports issuing, verifying and revoking SD-JWT Verifiable Credentials, and it supports OpenID For Verifiable Credentials as a communication protocol. This combination already enables you to take the first steps in becoming EUDI compliant. However in 2025 we're taking EUDI compliance to the next level.
A big part of this is legal compliance. National identity wallets for natural persons are expected to arrive in 2027, we're taking the time from now until then to make sure Paradym is fully certified and compliant to interact with these EUDI wallets. This important step will ensure that anyone building with Paradym can offer their solution within Europe. The road to certification will be complicated, which is why it's so important that we start it now. As with technical standards, we'll tackle the difficult parts, so Paradyms users can focus on building their solutions.
EUDI Compliant Paradym API
We're currently working to update the API with some essential features for EUDI compliant applications.
- ✅ Support for SD-JWT VCs
- ✅ Support for OID4VC
- 🚧 Support for mdoc (est. Q1)
- 🚧 Support for X.509 certificates (est. Q1)
- 🚧 Support for the OpenID4VC High Assurance Interoperability Profile - HAIP (est. Q2). This interoperability profile combines all the standards and specifications for credential issuance and verification, enabling a high level of security and privacy.
- ⏳ Support the trust model for the EUDI wallet (est. Q3). This long awaited trust model is finally taking shape in the form of Relying Party Authentication and Authorization, through our participation in the EUDI Prototype challenge from SPRIN-D, we'll be one of the first to prototype the model and will make sure it's integrated in Paradym as early as possible.
EUDI Compliant Paradym Wallet
In 2024 our team was selected to build a protoype EUDI wallet for the German government through the SPRIND innovation program. To build this prototype we started with our open-source Paradym wallet, and extended it with extensive EUDI oriented functionality and support. The results of this project are currently being merged back into the Paradym wallet and released as such.
This means that our free and open-source Paradym identity wallet will receive a massive upgrade in terms of UX, UI and features. We will keep the identity wallet up to date with the EUDI standards and protocols to make it as easy as possible for any Paradym builder to test with or integrate with EUDI wallets in the future.

⚡️ On Premise Deployments
Last year multiple builders requested the option to deploy Paradym as an on-premise product. We've already done some custom work to make this available for some, but this year we're making it easy to set-up so we can offer Paradym as an on-premise solution to more interested parties. Initially we will offer Kubernetes and Google Cloud deployments, which will be extended to more providers based on interest. Are you interested to discuss deploying Paradym on-premise, reach out to Ana directly to discuss the options.
⚡️ Cloud wallets
In 2025 Paradym will start to offer cloud wallets as part of its services, enabling you to easily set up a hosted identity wallet for yourself or your users. Cloud wallet functionality is very important for organizational wallets, where signing might need to happen by multiple users and/or roles, and where credentials need to be stored that are not person-bound but organization bound. Cloud wallets are also relevant for some use cases where storing a wallet on a mobile device is simply not practical.
⚡️ Global interoperability
In 2024 we did a lot of work to make Paradym a great-fitting solution for anyone looking to build EUDI related products. However, as our platform supports non-EUDI standards, it has become a great option for organizations looking for global interoperability. Looking ahead, it will be necessary for any solution that operates globally to connect to multiple standards and protocols under the hood. Paradym offers this already with AnonCreds/DIDComm but there's bigger goals on the horizon. In 2025 we intend to make Paradym compliant with ecosystems like the Swiss eID, the Canadian Reference Framework, and standards widely used in the USA and South East Asia. Digital identity solutions are not restricted by country, and the solutions you build with Paradym won't be either.
Conclusion
We have big plans for Paradym in 2025. In the end, all of them come down to one theme: ensuring that Paradym has everything you need to build a globally interoperable and scalable digital identity solution. To share your plans for 2025, or talk with us about ours, join the Paradym Community!
