Verify EUDI Wallet credentials in Moldova

Moldova in the EUDI ecosystem

Moldova is not an EU member state, but its EVO Wallet is aligned with the EUDI standards and available for citizens. The official developer documentation says EVO Wallet implements remote presentation to relying parties using OpenID4VP 1.0, HAIP 1.0 and ISO mdoc.

The public EVO app is available for citizens on iOS and Android through the Moldova e-Governance Agency. The app listing describes access to identity card, driving licence and vehicle registration data, alongside public-service payments, digital files, appointments and notifications.

For relying parties, Moldova documents a staging onboarding process with verifier registration, certificate issuance and EVO staging app access through Google Play test track and Apple TestFlight. With Paradym, you can prepare and run compatible OpenID4VP and mdoc verification flows.

Is Moldova an EU member state?

No. Moldova is not an EU member state, so EVO is not a member-state EUDI Wallet in the strict legal sense. It is still relevant because the official EVO Wallet documentation follows EUDI Wallet regulation and implementing-act direction, using OpenID4VP, HAIP and ISO mdoc profiles. If Moldova joins the EU the EVO wallet is already technically aligned.

Is the EVO app available to citizens?

Yes. EVO is publicly listed by the Moldova e-Governance Agency on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and the public app description says users can access identity card, driving licence and vehicle registration data in the app.

Can citizens onboard with EUDI-style credentials?

The EVO Wallet currently supports the Moldovan PID, Moldovan driving licence, and vehicle registration according to the technical standards and rulebooks set out in the EU. The wallet presents matching credentials to users over OpenID4VP.

Can I verify EVO Wallet credentials with Paradym today?

Yes. Paradym supports the OpenID4VP and mdoc verification patterns used by EVO Wallet. End-to-end production use depends on relying-party onboarding, certificates and the credentials enabled for the user.
